What’s in a name?

We have the great privilege in being entrusted with the most important phase of a child’s life for optimal learning and setting up attitudes and aptitudes for future learning. We believe in education starting in the early childhood years and wanted to reflect that in our group’s names. Kids College has four different educational programs. Each of our programs are specialized for each age group.

So how did we choose to name them?

College

Kids College name is chosen to emphasize the importance of early childhood education. As a childcare centre, we want to highlight this critical phase of learning that set children up for a love of learning for the rest of their lives. Children are building on their knowledge and we want to celebrate and support them. The word, college, used as a noun means a group of people with a particular job, purpose, duty or power who are organized into a group for sharing ideas. Our Kids College is a group of people coming together to form a Kids College family community for learning.

Discoverers

Our Discoverers are our under 2 year olds in our babies program. The first two years are so important for setting up children’s minds for learning. The word discoverer describes the process of inquiry. Babies experiencing the world for the very first time bask in amazement at the joy and magic of discovery.

Explorers

Our Explorers are our 2 years old Toddlers program. As children develop into toddlers they are experiencing things as new and exciting. The word explorer describes the enquiring mind of a toddler trying to figure out what things are all about.

Adventurers

Our Adventurers is our 3 year Kindy program. Three year olds are full of fun and learn through engaging experiences. The word adventurer encapsulates the atmosphere of learning through fun and excitement.

Imagineers

Our Imagineers is our 4 year Kindy program. We wanted to highlight the importance of imagination and learning through play. Imagineers is a word that originated with Walt Disney and means – a person who devises and implements a new or highly imaginative concept.

Cuddles our Koala

Our emblem is a Koala to reflect our Australian culture and he is dressed in a graduation gown and hat to symbolize the importance of our early childhood education.

Love, laughter and learning

Kids College is proud to send our children home happy each day having experienced love, laughter and learning. We view ourselves as part of the family and want children to feel loved and special. We take delight in the children’s learning and want to see them happy and laughing. Learning is inherent in our days, built into the fabric of what we do, through fun times and making memories together.
